Once you’ve got the perfect fit, these headphones provide exceptional sound quality. In order to get the best sound quality, you really need to make sure you’ve created a proper seal with the eartips. Platronics is kind enough to supply 2 extra eartips with the BackBeat GO2. As mentioned before, the only issue is getting that perfect fit in your ears. They provide a comfortable fit and the stabilizers certainly do help keep them in place. Without playing any music, I could hear my own heart beating pretty loudly through the headphones. Upon wearing the headphones, my impression of a stethoscope was made even more accurate. Provided you’ve got a perfect fit, these block out most external stimuli very effectively. It also acts as a call/answer/redial button when receiving a call. During music playback, a single press will allow you to Play/Pause music tracks. Holding it down a few more seconds turns the headphones on or off. Long pressing it will activate Voice Dialler, regardless of what app you’re using on the phone. The middle buttons supports many different actions. Long pressing either volume button will allow you switch between music tracks. You get 3 controls: Volume Up, Multi-Action, and Volume Down. That being said, the in-line controller is positioned perfectly for quick access, with the protruding buttons being easily distinguishable. The controls are very well spaced out and are not completely flat, making them a big improvement over last year’s model. The cable is a one-size-fits-all in terms of length, but personally I think it could be made a tiny bit shorter since it jutted out behind my neck. They headphones are surprisingly light and extremely portable. Yes, it doesn’t get tangled easily, but it is a bit stiff so getting it to bend properly can be a bit of a problem at times more than once it got caught in my shirt collar and I couldn’t fix the bend unless I took the headphones off, straightened the cable a bit and then put them back on again. They use a tangle-free cable which is both a good and a bad thing. The main body of the earbuds and the inline controller are made of glossy white plastic.
Especially since I got the white version. My initial impression was that it looks like a stethoscope.
